We had to go to Alva today so that Ty could pay a speeding ticket. Since my sister Kim was also in Alva, seeing friends, we decided to get together today. It was good to see my sister, I hadn’t seen her since July, when we went to Enid to visit her and Jr.
When Ty, the kids and I all moved to Elk City, from Alva, Kim and Jr had stored some items for me at their home. Mostly my Christmas tree and decorations, which she brought to me today, along with the quilt rack shelf that my step-dad had made me for Christmas almost 10 years ago. She also gave each of the girls a new Barbie doll to play with and David 15 dollars cash for his birthday, that was last month.

When we got done in Alva, we drove back home and stopped off in Woodward. While we were there, we stopped by to take my dad to the grocery store. He has been having some car trouble, and needed to get to the store. He also hadn’t seen David since he moved from Tennessee a little over 2 years ago. He had never met the twins.
It was nice to see my dad, and get to joke around with him again. He was happy to see his grand kids, he bought them each something at the store, along with some snacks and drinks. He joked around with Ty a lot, they both have a similar sense of humor, though my dad is a little more dry and sarcastic like me. Then Dad treated us all to Chinese food. My dad told me that he really likes Ty and thinks he is a good guy.
Unfortunately, we had to cut the visit short and hurry home, I found head lice in Layla’s hair! I hope to get together with my dad again soon, it has been too long, and we used to see him every day when we lived in Nashville.
